Architects, designers, NAHB home builders, and landscape architects create environments. These environments affect the people who live there. I have been called in to many of homes to deal with the results of the environmental energy patterns set up by the home's design. This is the driving force behind the creation of this course for you.
When I can stand in the street and see the back yard THROUGH the house, I know the people who live there are in trouble.
The homes are beautiful. They're creative. They're unique. But sometimes they wreak havoc on families that live in them.
When you can see straight through a house and out the back you see how the energy of this environment moves through that house and out without stopping. It is the object of survival to have energy come to us and stay a while. This is the same for our bodies and the food we eat as it is with our homes and the energy that comes through. To have enrgy pass through our home without stopping is like eating food and having it go straight through our body without stopping. No matter how much you eat, eventually, you'll starve to death. Environments affect those who live there. It's so very important that the environment is created to be supportive that I have created this class just for home building professionals.
YOU can help stop this situation from recurring by simply adding awareness to your home designs.
With an understanding of how energy moves in an environment, you can create homes and workplaces that not only support humans but also give them a sense of well-being. You just need to know a little about some things that are probably new to you. Architects and home designers often naturally implement some of the principles of feng shui. It is when these home building professionals don't know about energy in environments that FAMILIES SUFFER. And it doesn't have to be that way.
Course Description
The Feng Shui Friendly Design curriculum was created at the request of an area home builder. His firm had received so many requests for homes designed using feng shui principles that he was looking to have his designers trained. He did not want them trained as consultants. He wanted them taught ONLY and EXACTLY what was necessary to integrate the principles of Feng Shui into their designs.
Because there are thousands of years of history in the evolution of feng shui, that was a pretty tall request. As a master teacher and a feng shui master however, I created a one day (8-hour) class that delivers precisely what was requested. The class includes no sales pitches for building materials or supplies, no superstition or religion, and no pointless fluff - only specific details needed to energize environmental designs using feng shui principles.

Designer's Challenge
Attendees work in teams or individually to create a design integrating all their own personal and professional experience with the elements of energy and principles of feng shui, and staying within budget. Students will collaborate and brainstorm to design the home to minimize clutter, provide a barrier-free kitchen, and integrate a bedroom and bath for a vision-impaired resident. Students will also collaborate and brainstorm to design this home to be as naturally temperature controlled as possible, using structure shapes, thermal mass, and green roofing systems. Finally, students will integrate a gray-water irrigation system to their designs to provide for all landscape irrigation.
Upon completion of designs, each team uses the FSFD Checklist to evaluate and score their plans. We reconvene as a group and discuss their designs, their integration of the principles of feng shui, and whether or not their design could be built within budget. We brainstorm ways to raise their scores or improve their cost effectiveness. Those who meet the requirements are listed in Directory of Feng Shui Friendly Architects, Designers and Builders as Winners of the Designer's Challenge. (Multiple winners are possible.)
